If you’re anything like me, as soon as you have an afternoon free the dog lead is in your hand and you’re out the door with your shadow beside you.
But finding new, beautiful walks is always a challenge. As a dog photographer I’m lucky enough to spend a lot of my work week in gorgeous dog friendly locations, out for a walk with my clients and their dogs!
Here are some of my favourite beautiful bush walks in Adelaide and the surrounding areas:
Located just 10km’s South of Adelaide CBD, Belair National Park is one of the most popular dog friendly parks in SA. It’s also one of my favourite dog photoshoot locations in Adelaide- especially in winter! Click the photo for more pictures and to read more
Looking for an off-leash bush walk with your dog in Adelaide? This is the spot! It’s an easy, although undulating 1.4km walk that takes you first up through an open field, then into the forest, down the hill to cross the creek, and back out the other side through another open field. Another great off-leash dog walking area is the plantation part of Kuitpo Forest. Dogs just need to be kept under direct control at all times, and put on lead when near the picnic areas or if you come across wildlife. Click the photo for more pictures and to read more
Dogs are allowed in some sections of Mariolta Conservation Park. I’m often down the bottom along the creek beside the nature playground for photoshoots, which by the way is one of my most beautiful backdrops if you want neutral tones in your images. You can follow the Fourth Creek Walk from there to the First Falls carpark as long as your dog remains on lead.
For those of you in the North East.. Anstey Hill Recreation Park offers a variety of walking options from a flat 20 minute stroll to a couple of 3 hour hike with steep sections. Our favourite for photoshoots is the walk to Newman’s Nursery Ruins. Click the photo for more pictures and to read more
